Falling Back

Outfit for a Record Warm November Day--Sunday, 11/6/16

In this post on how to mix patterns/prints, Nicole features an outfit with a floral top (actually, a cardigan buttoned up) and a grey leopard cardigan.

From highlatitudestyle.com

For my weekend version, I substituted one of my Disney Alice collection graphic Ts--but if you look closely, you will see that the text is a floral print.  (That's an unusual feature, in my experience, but I think it's cute.)  It's not typical for me to pair a dark blue/navy (the color of the text) with black, but that's a thing now (for guys too) so let's just roll with it.  (Note that my outfit in no way resembles the examples in those links, which are very much on the sleek end of the spectrum.  There's not a bit of light blue floral texted graphic T-shirt to be seen!)

Black knit hiking skirt (Patagonia/REI), $2.50/wear
Grey leopard blazer (thrifted, Macy's), $0.83/wear
Light blue "Important Date" graphic T (Disney Alice/Kohls), $5.40/wear
Grey planet necklace (Macy's), $4.17/wear
Black LifeStride flats, $1.02/wear
[Look, ma, no tights!]

Outfit total: $13.92/wear

Even though it's November, we still have nice flowers growing around our apartment building.

In other news...Today was off to a rough start thinking about Bell's advanced age and frailness...

...and wondering whether I will see him again.  Not fun.

I was feeling a bit better by mid-afternoon, so we went on our planned library/Pokemon Go park outing (sans blazer--it was quite warm) and had a lot of success.  We evolved a bunch of non-fighting Pokemon, then hung out in the park where 5 adjacent lures meant that there was pretty constant Pokemon action.  We were using a lucky egg (that doubles your experience gained) so we leveled twice and are now up to level 18.  The park was heavily populated, and the corner we were standing on (which is nicely positioned next to the lured Pokestops) was jam packed with Pokemon players.  At one point, a Pedal Pub came by and I heard somebody on it explaining to other people "They're playing Pokemon."  Yep.  As always seems to happen, even in this crowded venue, a baby in a stroller (one of the very few non-Pokemon playing people in the park) took a great interest in Robert.

As we were leaving the park, we saw that about a block away, there were at least five fire trucks and two ambulances--I don't know what happened, but it can't be good.

Now I'm just winding down and hoping for an early night to bed.  Taking the time change into account, I woke up this morning earlier than I do on a work day!

I treasure each and every day with Bell. It's hard to believe he's as old as he is.

Bell has had a good life. It's tough though. Single worst part of having pets is losing them, as you know.

The baby actually slept an extra hour this morning! I was in shock. At first I thought my clock somehow hadn't changed. So we were up at the "normal" time. He had a fun day celebrating 10 months. He was like the Energizer bunny going and going and going and going... finally just passing out at (er, a little after) bedtime.

It helps to know that Bell has had/is still having a good life. Now if only we could clone him a la Mushroom in Tuf Voyaging!

Jen, congrats on the extra sleep this morning :) The baby seems to be getting more active with each passing week!

I have recurring dreams about clones of our kitties no longer with us. The problem is I have to figure out which is the evil clone(s)... Very stressful dreams when I have them!
