More Spring Flowers

Navy Revisited--Thursday, 6/18/15

I'm proud to feature Maria as a Reverse Inspiration because she combines snazzy outfit appropriate for a professional job (she's a lawyer) and enviably comfortable like nobody's business.  I like her take on the flowers + stripes concept.

From daintyanddecadent.com

I had strongly considered going with dark pants myself (navy) but instead I reached for my white pleated skirt for the first time this season.  It always feels so...I don't know..."crisp" somehow, in the way that only a freshly ironed garment can.  (And even though it's been raining in an April showers mode all month, it really is June, well into the white skirt season.)

*Navy floral cardigan (JNY), $7.02/wear+
Navy/blue/mint striped T (Target), $3.50/wear+
White pleated skirt (thrifted, Chaps), $1.67/wear+
Chunky aqua double strand necklace (Kohls), $3.75/wear+
Blue pointy toed flats (Nordstrom), $2.78/wear

I had almost put this t-shirt into the donate pile when I did my big closet clean-out a while back, and I'm glad I didn't.  When I got this new cardigan and wondered what top to wear under it, the t-shirt almost jumped off the hanger at it, it was so attracted to the matchy-matchy navy and light blue colors.  I've always heard that opposites attract and sameness repels, but not in this case.

With the gold buttons on the cardigan and my yellow hair, my whole look is pretty matchy-matchy with Van Gogh's Starry Night.  This print is in Robert's bathroom.

In other news...The shootings at the black church in South Carolina.  How fucked up can you get?  And yet there are (white) people who think we live in a non-racist/post-racial society.  Seriously?

Me too--and for $7, a definite win.

It's very lightweight also--perfect for spring/summer layering.
