I love love love a striped blazer or cardigan or sweater or top with jeans and a colorful scarf. I could pretty much wear some version of that every day, but I refrain. Not today, though. Today I indulged.
I liked the high-contrast, fall-colors version here...

...but decided to do a softer, gentler spring rendition myself.
*Grey striped blazer (thrifted, Target), $5.00/wear+
White short-sleeved V-neck T (Lands End), $4.00/wear
Teal paisley scarf (Target), $4.00/wear+
Straight leg jeans (Kohls), $1.87/wear+
*Bright teal ballet flats (Payless), $13.00/wear+
The grey and white striped cotton blazer whispers spring and summer in my ear, and the teal scarf looks very soothing and cool.
And bright teal ballet flats? Swoon.
I also swoon for kingfishers, so someone sent me this dapper fellow. Who was it? I can't remember! Own up to your awesomeness in the comments section! He hangs out at the end of the long-ish hallway on a short (refrigerator-wide) piece of wall at an angle to the wall with the Woman in the Purple Coat.
In other news...This was a long, sort of painful caffeine-free week. I'm so happy it's the weekend!

The kingfisher was from me! I have a raven by the same artist in my kitchen. The artist is Dean Crouser.
Of course. Thanks, Tam! It looks really great at the end of the hallway--I can get enough distance from it, which I think with this style of painting is the best view.
