I liked the idea of wearing a leopard top and striped skirt, but when I tried it myself, it was a bit much for wearing to work.

So I saved the idea for celebrating Robert's birthday, when there can never be too much of a party in my outfit.
*White leopard shark hem blouse (JNY), $7.02/wear+
Striped knit skirt (thrifted, Target), $0.63/wear+
Black wedges (thrifted), $0.36/wear+
Black tooth/claw necklace (Outfit Additions), $1.65/wear+
As a bonus, this oversized blouse and a knit skirt are perfect for wearing to a restaurant lunch where you expect that you'll be stuffed when you're done.
Our lunch at the Brazilian steakhouse was fabulous! My #1 favorite was the pork sausages, which were the second best sausage I've had in the US. My #2 favorite was the (complimentary) cheesecake with raspberry sauce, with which they had written Happy Birthday on the plate. My #3 favorite was the black beans and rice--I was careful and had a tiny portion, about 1/4-1/3 cup, but it was great. I could have made an entire meal out of it (if I weren't having a whole bunch of meat and I could easily tolerate eating all those beans).
When we got home, I changed into these new flats that had just come in the mail.
*Paintbrush patterned flats (Payless), $10.00/wear+
I'm excited because Robert ordered a fancy spotting scope this weekend, which we are planning to test out a bit around here and then hopefully take on a vacation to the Great Lakes area next month. We also went to Home Depot yesterday and bought a gas grill. I'll be more excited about that again once I'm no longer so much in an "I'll never eat meat again" mode.
We had a good birding out this morning, though it was surprisingly warm and humid and I came home with a headache. Highlights included an indigo bunting, a Baltimore oriole (which I didn't see), and a snapping turtle laying eggs.
I'm posting my turtle photo on FB, but here's the sign next to where the turtle was hanging out.

I love those shoes you wore to lunch - like mary janes with clunky heels or something? Wow.
Yep, they have a high-for-me wedge heel.
