"Gingham Floral"--Thursday, 8/18/16

Today's Reverse Inspiration is the ever-popular gingham shirt + floral skirt combination.  (Trust, I had my pick of reverse inspirations with these components.  I actually lost my original one and it took me like 15 seconds just now to find another.)  She looks pretty happy for a grad student, doesn't she?  It must be all those cats!

From cottoncashmerecathair.com

And here is the outfit that started it all.

Watermelon floral skirt (thrifted, Talbots), $0.83/wear
Bright pink gingham button up shirt (thrifted, Company Ellen Tracy), $2.25/wear
Pink floral necklace (Target), $0.95/wear
Tan captoe flats by Clarks, $2.94/wear

Outfit total: $6.97/wear

For some reason, I really like the shoes with this outfit.  Probably because the repeating of the black color from the skirt satisfies my matchy-matchy instincts.

In other news...It's been a rough week on the sleep front.  As my Fitbit confirms, I've been getting less than 7 hours of sleep since some time last week--I didn't even get enough sleep over the weekend.  I know there are people, perhaps even readers of this blog, who would find 6.5 hours of sleep something of a miracle but for me, after a few days this is a recipe for the grumps.  I'm enough on the edge of disaster that finding out tonight from Robert that the rabbit barn will not open until noon on the day that we are going to the state fair almost had me in tears.  (This is a new development; the schedule has shifted during this past week.)  A few minutes ago, I put some ice into my glass and got a small splash of green tea droplets on my eyeglasses and was prepared to cry over it.  Not good.

Sleep is important. While you can sort of get used to getting less of it, it still takes its toll. Hope you get lots of good shut-eye this weekend.
