No Ghouls

Just Another Work Outfit--Monday, 3/7/16

In an article about how to stand out and fit in at the same time at work, Bridgette pairs a basic outfit--tweed dress and beige (almost light grey) cardigan--with burgundy booties "to liven it up."  I figured I could use my maroon ankle boots to punch up my grey tweed skirt.

From bridgetteraes.com

But since I don't really need encouragement to avoid boring, and it's a rare outfit where I have swapped out only "one piece for something more interesting," I also have a grey leopard blouse and a maroon cardigan in the mix.

Grey tweed skirt (thrifted, Ann Taylor), $3.75/wear
Grey leopard blouse (JNY), $7.80/wear+
Maroon drapey cardigan (Coldwater Creek), $3.00/wear
Grey sweater scarf (Target), $4.00/wear
Grey tights
Maroon ankle boots by Dolce Vita, $11.72/wear

Outfit total: $30.27/wear

Yet under Bridgette's influence, the result is an ensemble that is more restrained and tasteful than mine often are.  Perfect for a 25 minute meeting in the executive offices.

In other news...This past weekend, I started the Point Lookout DLC (downloadable content) for Fallout 3.  Man, it's a great addition to the game!  It takes place in the real-world location of Point Lookout State Park (in the game, it has been developed a bit, though it's still a swampy area and the only place in the game so far where you can harvest wild, edible plants!).  When Robert looked it up on Google maps, he found that Point Lookout is in the same county in Maryland where his dad's family first arrived in America from England.  So that's a kind of interesting personal connection.

I imagine that his ancestors encountered significantly fewer feral ghouls in that region circa 1710 than exist in the post-apocalyptic future of the game, however.  I mean, they must have done because I think one feral ghoul reaver would have been sufficient to ensure that Robert was never born, an idea of which I strenuously disapprove along with this worried-looking bunny!

It's OK, bunny, there are no ghoul reavers to kill you or Robert's ancestors.

The bunny is like - are you sure?

Hah, yes, he's a little bit distrustful of how readily I dismiss the possibility of feral ghouls.
