A Perfect Match

What to Wear to a Presentation--Wednesday, 9/16/15

Focal item:  light green ribbon-front T

A green top with purple pants is a colorful, summery combination.

From lindsayliving.com

I couldn't match the shades of green and purple she wore, though--instead I had this lime green top and blurple pants.  Living in Coldville, I naturally added an elbow-length cardigan to the outfit.  Then I thought, Huh, I wonder if I have a scarf that could help tie these three colors together.  Do I or do I not?!

Light green top with ribbon front (thrifted, Talbots), $2.00/wear+
Purple [blurple] pants (JCP), $5.33/wear
Purple/lime/black silk scarf (thrifted), $0.75/wear
Elbow-length black cardigan (thrifted, AB Studio), $2.50/wear
Black pointy-toed flats (Nordstrom), $2.63/wear

Outfit total: $13.21/wear

When I showed Robert this outfit, he was like, Those are some bright pants--they're the color of my old Mazda 6.  I guess this is Robert-speak for "I approve" because he loved that car.  Zoom zoom.

I don't have a green and purple photo to share with you today, but I hope you will find this blue sky and green grass (and white wildflower) photo of summer on the prairie a reasonable substitute.

In other news...I woke up at 5:00 this morning to go to the bathroom and couldn't go back to sleep again.  I had no trouble getting to my 7:30 meeting but man, I am so tired now.

It was funny--for our section of the presentation, my supervisor was supposed to talk for a couple slides and then turn it over to me, but he forgot and moved on to the next slide.  He covered my 5 minute spiel and after he sat back down next to me, apologized.  He said that once he realized he had started my section, it felt less weird to complete it than not, which I agreed with.  But then somebody later asked if I could speak for a bit about the methodology behind my analysis, and I got several questions to answer, so I got my 5+ minutes of presentation time anyway.

Amazing that you have a scarf that so perfectly pulls this outfit together. Looks fabulous!

I know, crazy, right? I just bought the scarf because it was an attractive silk scarf at an inexpensive price at Goodwill; I didn't even think about if it would match anything. I guess you get enough clothes, eventually you have something that goes with everything ;)
