One of Robert's co-workers shared this photograph taken on Easter in Temple, about one hour north of Austin. I must say this isn't a combination I have ever seen before. We have the bluebonnets and the Indian paintbrush, but none of the snow.

That's awesome.
We don't have a ton of wildflowers here in Denver, but I love spring snows for similar reasons - the juxtaposition of the white snow with the green grass, or the new leaves on the trees, perhaps with blossoms. It's very pretty to me.
I think my favorite outdoor visual contrast is when my mom's yard is snowed over in the winter and the cardinals come in to eat from her bird feeders. The red birds, which are so beautiful in their own right, are particularly striking against the backdrop of white. When the weather has been really bad, we'll see a dozen or more at the same time. Other birds are often also very pretty in this context, but the cardinals are the best. (Approximately 48,713 Christmas cards with this design can't be wrong.)
